The internet is nothing more then a large group of computers connected together. Your computer is apart of this vast network of computers,. Some are used to "surf the net" meaning to view web pages with a "web browser" such as Internet Explorer or Fox Fire. Others computers are used to "host" web pages meaning to store the webpage in a place where you can view it.

A search engine is normally a place you can type in a search term and normally in seconds have over a million web pages you can view that will give you information on the term.
